Washington National Cathedral: Series 1: Seeing Deeper
Tonight I attended Seeing Deeper at the Washington National Cathedral.
The chairs are removed from the Nave to provide a completely open canvas. Literally it was just a sea of people laying on the floor marveling at the lights dancing on the walls and entranced by the music.
Eager to capture the brilliance of color, lights and shadows, my camera could not click fast enough.
It’s funny, I grew up in St. Louis and now that I have been away long enough to forget street names or only know how to reach a destination thanks to my GPS, I now have a newfound appreciation every time I visit.
As long as I can remember our family has celebrated many traditions. As a kid, it always added to the excitement of the event.
Copy and paste When Eastern State opened more than 180 years ago, it changed the world. Known for its grand architecture and strict discipline, this was the world’s first true “penitentiary,” a prison designed to inspire penitence, or true regret, in the hearts of prisoners.
Near Williamsburg, VA stands 43 statues of our Presidents. These statues were once part of Presidents Park, opened in 2004.

Once again the Washington National Cathedral has amazed me!
Recently I took a tour to see the Gargoyle and Grotesques. The description of the tour said their would be a lot of stairs, walking, tight spaces and you should not be afraid of heights. All true! Also shared, was all the history and thought that has went into the construction and the purpose of the Cathedral. Did you know….there are many notable people buried at the Cathedral, Woodrow Wilson and Helen Keller to name a couple.
